The Barbados Divers Association is a social club that welcomes anyone with a love of diving, a respect for the island and its marine life. We promote safe, affordable and fun diving throughout the year with dives planned every week. We use different dive operators across the island with members taking turns to host dives.
Club membership is inexpensive and members dive at affordable rates that we negotiate with many local dive shops. Members can also get discount rates on local dive equipment and dive courses.
We are run by volunteer officers who are elected by our members each October. Monthly meetings are an opportunity to discuss club matters, arrange future dives, social activities and share news. Improving safety and the environment are often on the agenda.
Formed in the spring of 1990 by members of the American Embassy and originally called Barbados American Divers Association (hence BADAssn). Over the years, the club has grown and the membership has become more diverse. In 2008 the name was changed to the Barbados Divers Association, but we’re still known as BADASS!
